Heidi Kaye

Heidi’s voice as a writer is shaped by a desire to connect deeply with the stories of people around the country in which she lived. Teaching throughout her twenties in rural and regional NSW and NT led her to witness the power of film to encourage learning, inspire curiosity, nurture empathy and unite a community as well as represent people with diverse experiences.
In 2021, Heidi decided to shift her career as an educator towards writing and producing films that reflect Australian perspectives and resonate with global audiences. After completing a Screen and Media certificate at TAFE NSW she has undertaken every opportunity to collaborate with creatives that share her passion and drive to work on genre-bending original independent projects. At the centre of her creative work remains her integrity as someone who values environmental and LGBTQ+ justice. Heidi also believes that you cannot make a movie in Australia without consulting, including and honouring First Nations people and is particularly committed to contributing to the empowerment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
